Inspired by Hallmark's Keepsake train ornaments, I have replicated LIONEL's Red Comet! The original set was first offered in 1935. People called this an "ultra-modern" streamline set because of its futuristic appearance. Just like the classic set, this train is led by a 2-4-2 locomotive stylized after the famous New York Central Commodore Vanderbilt. Even the Observation car was included in this set. This set is 1,292 pieces. Inside the passenger cars are a couple sets of tables with suitcase holders in between. Inside the locomotive is a small fire box and some unprinted controls. It is a classically replicated set that everyone will want to own! (11/4/2016)
