Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice centers around a lovely ghost couple Adam and Barbara attempting to haunt away the bothersome Delia, Otho, Charles and goth teen Lydia Deetz who they eventually befriend. After unsuccessful attempts, they receive the aid of the most horrifying, terrifying and hilarious ghoul by saying his name three times: Beetlejuice!  Which might not be the best of ideas.

The movie is undoubtely a classic, and rightfully so... Demostrating exhilarating visuals by Burton, great performances and an inventive twist on the classic ghost story. As a result the character has remained on the zeitgesit as a Halloween icon and even a Broadway/Cartoon star!

With the success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice there is no better time to release a set based on the movie, and finally give the ghost with the most his own Lego set!

THE BUILD:

Through their ghastly misadventures Adam and Barbara transverse the Neitherworld, a miniature model, Saturn (Sandworms! I hate them myself) and a tacky remodeled version of their home, which are all represented here.

The house features the exterior after being remodeled by the Deetz's while a giant Sandworm bursts out from the tower! A small saturn section is depicted behind the house.

The house can be opened, revealing a decked out interior featuring iconic locations from the movie through its three floors, including:

  • The waiting room: Features a rotating entrance door, plenty of couches to wait a millenium and a Turn-o-matic number display.

  • Ms. Argentina's office: Contains storage cabinets and creepy tentacles coming from a door!

  • Inside Adam's model: How could you not have a Beetlejuice set without his tombstone and sign! Dante's is also right around the corner!

  • The House's living room: The fireplace and the Deetz’ furniture are represented, alongside stairs where you can dance the calypso or get haunted by giant snakes!

  • Dining area: Shrimp cocktails are waiting to be haunted for the diner party! Delia's amusing sculptures are also present on the back. Day-O!!

  • Barb and Adam's Attic: The only part of the house untouched by the Deetz's, a sanctuary for our protagonist ghosts. A miniature model is situated on the middle and dangling lights illuminate the room.

  • Juno's office: If you need advice, Juno will probably not be there to help. Contains a table, lamp and chairs to arrange a meeting.
Built with 3,000 pieces

MINIFIGURES:

The set includes 10 minifugres:

  • BEETLEJUICE: Includes accessories to transform him into his Carnival suit.
  • BARBARA MAITLAND
  • ADAM MAITLAND
  • Both Adam and Barbara can change their faces into scary ones to scare off the Deetz's.
  • LYDIA DEETZ
  • DELIA
  • CHARLES
  • OTHO
  • JUNO
  • MS. ARGENTINA
  • THE SHRINKER

Two brick built characters are also included!

So wether you are a Tim Burton, Halloween, Beetlejuice Musical or a Lego fan in general, there is plenty to look for in this project!

PRINTS:

Additionally, the set includes unique prints recreating props from the movie, including the Handbook, Lydia’s ghost picture, The Afterlife Newspaper (With a Lego-Fied Sandworm!), Waiting room sign, Beetlejuice’s Sign, Tombstone, eyes for Barb’s scary face and details for Dante’s.

FINAL NOTES:

This is a continuation of my ‘Sandworm House’ submission for the “If we could turn back time challenge”. Thanks to all who welcomed my challenge submission which encouraged me into developing a more complete set. Beetlejuice is a movie where anything goes! I tried to capture that essence by making the Sandworm burst from the house, and dedicate some house room for the waiting room and miniature model.

I had tons of fun designing this set as I’ve been a fan of the movie for a long time, I hope this depiction through Lego bricks makes you as excited as me to get it as an official model. Sharing this project would be of great appreciation and before I go; say it with me!
