I built a LEGO model of a CRT TV from the late 70's. I've always loved the way that old TVs look and so when I was trying to think of what I wanted to try to make to begin my LEGO creator journey I decided on a CRT TV. I'm really proud of the way this idea has turned out and I think it looks awesome! I would personally love to have this set as a display piece.
I think that this would make a great LEGO set because I believe there is an audience for it. There have been a lot of recent sets that have captured a true sense of nostalgia and I believe this to be no exception. Outside of the nostalgia space, lots of people today are fascinated by older technology. Overall I believe that this set would have a wide consumer base with the older LEGO fan base.
I really love the color bars that appear when an old TV loses signal so I decided to capture that look with LEGO. That mixed with the retro knobs, antenna, and size of the TV truly brings this build together as a representation of an old box TV.
The build is made up of 861 total pieces of 13 different colors. BrickLink Studio was used for the build and the renders. Thank you for reading my description and looking at my build. This was my first attempt at a build that I was going to submit to LEGO Ideas and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Once again thank you for reading and I hope to receive your support!
