Niagara Falls is a true wonder of the natural world. Located on the border between the United States and Canada, Niagara Falls consists of three separate waterfalls -- American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. With a height of more than 165 feet (50 m), Niagara Falls is ranked as one of the top 10 tourist destinations in the world, drawing an estimated 22 million visitors each year.

Lego Niagara Falls consists of two builds, for a total of approximately 1750 pieces. The American side (600 pieces) features the American Falls as well as the smaller Bridal Veil Falls. It also includes the Niagara Falls Observation Tower, the Cave of the Winds, and two Maid of the Mist tour boats. The Canadian side (1150 pieces) features the famous Horseshoe Falls, 3 hotels (Marriott Niagara Falls Hotel, The Tower Hotel, and Embassy Suites by Hilton Niagara Falls), a Hornblower Niagara Cruises tour boat, and a barrel for any daredevils who want to go over the falls.

This design is an update of my previous Lego Niagara Falls submission on Lego Ideas, with a number of new upgrades:

  • The most significant upgrade is the design now features 100% real Lego parts. I've made prototypes of both sets and will submit the real-life photos in a future update.
  • Both builds have been updated to use transparent light blue tiles for the Niagara River and white grille plates for the waterfalls, giving it the most realistic design yet.
  • The Canadian build now features 3 Niagara Falls hotels, one of the many flower gardens in the area, and a barrel for going over the falls.
  • The American build features a second Maid of the Mist tour boat, which is the brand new, all-electric version that will make its debut in 2020. The classic style Maid of the Mist tour boat is also included with the build.

Niagara Falls will make an excellent Lego set because it is an internationally recognized landmark and tourist destination for travelers from across the world. It puts a fresh spin on the microscale Lego Architecture series by applying the design style to the beauty of our natural world.
