Introducing a bold new Lego Exclusive take on Southern Pacific's Daylight Limited; The Nightlight Unlimited!
This beautiful lady boasts incredible attention to details... At least all those I could see on my reference picture, plus sleek crome and gold streamlining! I made up some details too, like the opening water hatches, coal storage, and cab interior.
The coaches are kinda made up based on others I've seen and ridden in, but the Engine at the front is mostly accurate. I added a rounded nose and cab interior, whilst the original Daylight had a closed cab and barely round nose, plus other small details train lovers will notice. No, I don't care, I got bored and creative. You'll also notice blow-down pipes sticking out oddly below the firebox section of the engine. As you may suspect it was indeed an importing glitch in Lego studio. The pipes you see are actually interior details around the cab boiler the application refused to apply correctly. But hey, for a glitch they look pretty cool, and I think they should be included in the set.
Why did I build it? Well, originally I wanted it to be the Daylight limited, but seeing as there was already one submitted by another builder, I decided to make a Lego exclusive version for train lovers everywhere! I know for a fact a lot of us poke fun about an opposite version of The Daylight Limited called The Nightlight, and now it's finally here!
