500 Supporters! The Adventure Continues!
500 Supporters! Thanks! And a big (belated) 'Thank You' for 100 as well!
Although 500 is not an official milestone, it's the perfect excuse for an update. Introducing: the HUMMER EV Adventure Pack!
After a long day off-roading, camp out under the stars in a roof-top tent:
Too much stuff? No problem! Accessorize with a roof-top cargo carrier:
Which opens:
Take on the waves with surfboards! Also plenty of room for bikes, a motorcycle, skis, you name it!
Thanks again for your support and encouragement! Please keep sharing if you are able!
P.S. Did you know the HUMMER EV can tow up to 12,000 lbs? Seems like an opportunity for a big accessory...stay tuned!

CrabWalk is here!
I was lucky enough to visit my childhood home this summer. While there, I dug out my old LEGO from the back of the basement storage room. I found my dragster, some bits of the deep sea exploration set (with sharks!), and these:
The humble LEGO turntable (3679/3680). I had totally forgotten about you!
In sharing the HUMMER with friends, family, and online, one question kept popping up: "But can it CrabWalk?!" Hanging my head, the answer was always: "Unfortunately, no. There wasn't enough room at this scale."
But seeing the turntable at the bottom of that repurposed ice cream bucket gave me an idea: if I combine the LEGO turntable with some bars and clips, maybe...
Yes! A rudimentary 4-bar linkage! But can I make it work with the original design? Well, you all read the title already, so without further ado, I'm happy to present: CrabWalk axles!
Now the HUMMER can CrabWalk (and has 4-wheel steering)!
And for the astute observer: no, the technic plates aren't interfering with the light gray slope pieces, they actually pass above them (when viewed from above).
These new axles do widen the track slightly, but I think it might look even better this way.
I did need to modify the undercarriage and wheel-wells slightly to make the axles fit and prevent interference. But I'm happy with how it turned out. What do you think?
P.S. I will be posting another update soon to celebrate 500. Stay tuned!
