My idea is a Lego version of the award-winning board game Forbidden Island, developed by Matt Leacock and published by Gamewright Games. In the game, the players work together to rescue four treasure items from a magical island before it sinks into the ocean and is lost forever.
The board is made up of 24 tiles, which are removed one by one as the island disappears. They are:
• Breakers Bridge
• Bronze Gate
• Cave of Embers
• Cave of Shadows
• Cliffs of Abandon
• Copper Gate
• Coral Palace
• Crimson Forest
• Dunes of Deception
• Fools' Landing
• Gold Gate
• Howling Garden
• Iron Gate
• Lost Lagoon
• Misty Marsh
• Observatory
• Phantom Rock
• Silver Gate
• Temple of the Moon
• Temple of the Sun
• Tidal Palace
• Twilight Hollow
• Watchtower (and)
• Whispering Garden
I also included six mini-figures to represent the different pawns you can play as:
• The Explorer (green)
• The Pilot (blue)
• The Navigator (yellow)
• The Diver (black)
• The Engineer (red) and
• The Messenger (white)
These can be displayed on a stand along with the four treasures and the dreaded flood level meter, which determines how fast the island is sinking.
This set has about 2,400 pieces.
I think Forbidden Island is a perfect fit for Lego because of its colorful locations, its dramatic gameplay, and its boundless sense of mystery and adventure. If you agree, be sure to give this model your support.
