Avatar: The Last Airbender is an animated tv series produced by Nickelodeon from 2005-2008. Set in a world where people can manipulate the elements of water, earth, fire, and air, the show follows Aang, the last Airbender and the Avatar, in his fight against the Fire Nation. With the help of his friends, he masters all four elements and restores balance to the world.
The show earned widespread praise for its rich storytelling, well-developed characters, and intricate world-building. The success of Avatar: The Last Airbender led to the creation of spin-off material, including The Legend of Korra, a tv show that follows the next Avatar after Aang, and numerous games and comics. Almost twenty years later it is still one of the most critically acclaimed shows of all time, and continues to be expanded with projects such as Netflix’s live action adaptation and Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game.
Avatar: The Last Airbender remains a timeless classic enjoyed by people of all ages, making it the perfect match for a LEGO set.
I based this product idea on Book 1, the first season of the television series and when its epic story began. The main build is Appa, Aang’s loyal sky bison and his primary means of transportation for his adventures. The project contains 1,032 pieces featuring 4 minifigures: Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko. Elemental bending pieces, such as fire and water, as well as Sokka’s trusty boomerang are also included. This set could be both a great toy and display piece!
Avatar: The Last Airbender is my favorite show ever. It has created a positive impact on my life and the lives of countless others. Following a resurgence in popularity in 2020, Nickelodeon announced more projects under its brand new Avatar Studios, including theatrical films, television series, and more. With that and Avatar’s 20th anniversary coming up next year, what better time to release a LEGO set based on the show?
