Growing up, I would save my allowance till I could get whatever set I deemed "cool" at the time. I remember when the Western series came out (Cowboys and Indians) and WOW, I couldn't save fast enough to get them all. I still remember to this day walking into the store to purchase the "Fort Legoredo (6769)" set. I don't know what it was about that set but to this day it is one of my all time favorites to build and display.
While I will always love this set, I still can't get passed the large void in the middle of it when all 4 corners are connected. I designed the "Western Lookout Tower" so that it would fit inside that void, but also be awesome as a stand alone set. I tried to build this set as close to the original style of build as possible inordedr for it to seamlessly fit in with the rest of the series, but also make it a fun build as a stand alone option.
The 4 story (33 brick) tall "Western Lookout Tower" features: 4 minifigs, 2 stalls with a cow and bull, a horse, a snake, bird, and rat.
The 4 minifigures:
Captain Charly
Sergeant Sam
Private Paul
Ranch Hand Richard
After a long climb up to the top floor, Provate Paul has the ability to see way out into the horizon to watch for any approaching bad guys or invading Indians. His bugle is ready and waiting for him to sound the alarm, while the gun mount is ready for his aim to be true.
They all work hard every day to help protect Fort Legoredo and its citizens!
The 3rd floor has a weapons storage including TNT and a chest full of gold.
The 2nd floor is the Captain's office.
The Base level consists of the jail and the stables.
