Mechanical Organisms.
In the distant future, the environment of the earth was harsh.
Highly developed AI created mecha adapted to its natural environment.
The mecha were designed with reference to living organisms.
We can learn a lot from organisms that have survived since ancient times.

When we humans put food in our mouths, we sense “taste” because we have “taste buds” on our tongues, but catfish have them all over their bodies. In other words, their whole body is like a tongue.
Catfish detect prey by the taste that drifts in the water.
Moreover, they can tell the distance of their prey by the density of the taste.

There is also a popular belief in an old Japanese legend that catfish go on a rampage and cause earthquakes.
In fact, this is because catfish have a very high electroreceptive capacity and can sense the electricity generated when the plates move before an earthquake occurs. Research is being conducted to see if this could be used to predict earthquakes.
We hope this work will spark your interest in catfish.
