This work is based on the cuttlefish, one of the most widely distributed squid species in the world.

The scientific name for this squid is Sepia esculenta Hoyle, 1885, from which the color “sepia” is derived.

Squid ink is black like black ink when ejected, but fades and disappears over time.

Some people have taken advantage of this and written IOUs in squid ink. Letters written in squid ink disappear over time and the IOU becomes invalid.

In Japanese, cheating is called ikasama.

Ika means squid.
