Project Description:

Hop aboard the General and prepare yourself for lots of fun! Build the historical steam locomotive, complete with a tender and a passenger car. Place the passengers in the coach, put the engineer inside the cab, and push the articulating steam locomotive around twists and bends! If you have Power Functions to put into the General, there will be a lot more fun than what comes with the set! Have a great Lego train time with the 19th-century American steam locomotive today!

How it all came together:

At the time that I built this steam locomotive, I really wanted to build a train that was historical. What did I do? I built the General, of course! Many people recognize the General, and it was involved in a historical event, so I gave it a shot. At the time I thought of this idea, it was during the Easter time. I gave up Lego Digital Designer, an essential tool to building this project, to prepare for Easter Sunday. However, I did work on it during Sundays in between the Easter Season. I completed this project on March 19th, which was just four months ago. Today, I have decided to try posting this model again so that way it may succeed in becoming a Lego set.

Project Information:

This Lego version of the General is 735 pieces. There are four minifigures included in this set: an engineer/fireman, two passenger men, and a passenger lady. Just like the tender and the passenger car, the steam locomotive itself articulates. The roof on the locomotive cab lifts up to reveal two pressure gauges, a decorative firebox, and a seat for the engineer. In the tender is a solid structure of removable logs. If you lift up the roof on the passenger car, you will see three pairs of tables for passengers to sit in. If you were to incorporate Power Functions into this set, you would have to use items 88000 or 8878 (battery box), 8884 (receiver), and 88002 (motor). If you do not have a remote control to operate this set, then also buy item 8879.

Conclusion:

Thank you all for viewing my project! If you have any suggestions for another project, feel free to tell me. If you see any problems in here, please tell me about them, and I will fix them. Have a good day, everyone! By cheesy. 7/3/2017
