Letter to Santa

Amazingly & unexpectedly "Letter to Santa" was chosen as Staff pick this week - fantastic news! While some might think it has come a tad early in the year's cycle I tend to believe that it is never too early for a little brick-build Christmas and it's always best to get ready ahead of time as to best enjoy the holidays.

I really appreciate the recognition of this whimsical winter build to give the project some much needed visibility on the site. If it makes people smile and helps lift their holiday spirit - that's truly all one can hope for!

Elves & winter builders round the globe had an exciting week as the new Winter Village sets were finally available in stores. And now that we got those: how great a fit would "Letter to Santa" be with them?!!

Having the post office and the cute delivery truck right next to the little North Pole stand from my project and placing the big envelope as a backdrop would create the most lovely scenery to celebrate the magic of Christmas & the magnificent things we wish for!

I made a couple of images showing my creation side-by-side with the newly released winter sets (which I cannot post here) and it just seems perfect.

Thanks to all of you who agreed & voted for "Letter to Santa" in the hope that one day it could become reality. Unfortunately this project is buried pretty deep underneath other submissions on the site so that the amazing support that has washed in over the past couple of days will go unnoticed by most but I'm still very thankful & happy about the show of appreciation.

Here's a little "Letter to Santa"-postcard I created to celebrate 350 supporters - enjoy!

Somebody suggested I should swap the front elements of the stand from left to right to provide a clearer view of the address-label and while I prefer the current version I wanted to show you the alternative.

Obviously mirror building would always be an option as there are only three pieces that would have to be replaced for that to work but see for yourselves & let me know what you like best!

We gotta be prepared: Winter is coming!

Admittedly, it's been tough sledding for "Letter to Santa" on Ideas so far and I don't have to tools to help out the elves with this particular problem but I'm a believer still and to have "Letter to Santa" as an actual set remains high on my wishlist. So on we go - winter is coming!

As it seemed a little odd the title picture for this build was its supposed backside I have now edited the project to show the front of the build. Additionally I have updated the other pictures and added the piece count to the description. Hope this will increase the project’s appeal!
