Details + Updated 3D View
(Make sure to check out this great image by Gabriele in full resolution by clicking it)
As promised here is another update showing the improvements we added to our FIAT 500.
Most importantly the connection of the roof is now much more stable than it had been before as demonstrated in this image.
Secondly we also added minor details such as a rear view mirror inside or a windshield in the back.
This last image shows how the arch pieces which create the C-pillar of the car are connected. The connection is rather unusual and definitely worth showing.
Finally we would like to announce that the Mecabricks 3D view of our model has been updated and it now includes all 3 versions of the car (original submission, updated 1968 version and 1957 anniversary version) as well as captions for each car. That way you'll be able to take a closer look and compare the three variants. We hope you enjoy it.
(You can get to the 3D view by clicking the image below.)
How to use the 3D view: Hold and drag leftMB to rotate, rightMB to pan and scroll to zoom in our out. You can also turn on the brick outlines by clicking the tooth gear in the top right and ticking "edges" in the pop-up window.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for further updates!
Happy Birthday FIAT 500!
Happy birthday FIAT 500! On this very date 60 years ago the Cinquecento was born. Despite its age it is still a legend and loved by people of all generations. On this occasion Gabriele and I decided to post an update with the original 1957 variant of the car.
The notable differences are:
- backwards opening doors
- bigger sunroof
- several small details like the hub caps, the chrome detailing and the lights
Furthermore this version has some major improvements on the way the roof and the windshield are connected which we also plan to incorporate into our 1968 FIAT 500 F design. Next week we will post another update focusing on the structural improvements and showing some details of the anniversary version. For now get your party hats and cake and enjoy this great image done by Gabriele.

More images coming soon next week.
P.S. To all our american fans have a great 4th of July.
10 x 500 = 5000!
Thank you so much! A few days ago we hit 5000 supports. This not only means that we're halfway there but we also got another 182 days to reach our goal.
To this point we have garnered 5040 supports, 577 comments and 70k views. This means we in average got 37 supports per day and from this point forth only need about 7.6 supports a day to reach 10000!
To celebrate this milestone Gabriele created this wonderful pop-art collage of 10 Cinquecentos. After all 10 times 500 equals 5000!

Thanks a lot from both Gabriele and me, Felix.
Here's to another 5000!
Merry Christmas!
It's that time of the year again! Merry Christmas to you from Gabriele and me! Check out the beautiful image Gabriele made and make sure to view it in full resolution on flickr by clicking it! As you can see we finally were able to get real printed parts for our 500. Thanks a lot to Patrick Baroni who kindly provided us with the decorated parts!
We hope you're having a great holiday season and we'll continue posting great new updates in the upcoming year!
3D view now on Mecabricks!
Hello and welcome to another update. This time we decided to upload a 3D view of our project on Mecabricks. If you don't know what Mecabricks is then here's some information:
Mecabricks is an online Lego CAD alternative to LDD. You can access your creations on any device with internet connection and most importantly new parts and prints for parts get added all the time. It's also very easy to export and render Mecabricks models which allowed us to do the cool video of our FIAT. I highly suggest you check it out.
Now regarding our update:
By clicking the image below you can get to a 3D view of our model on the Mecabricks website. That way you can inspect the model as closely as you want. Instructions on how to use the 3D viewer are in the description on Mecabricks. Make sure to give it a try.
Thanks for stopping by.
Our 500 Compared to Lego Sets
Hello and welcome back to yet another update!
In this one we show the series of images made by Gabriele which show our little 500 together with the official Lego Creator Expert cars. The images also include some funny text so make sure to read it!

We hope you like these pics.

Built in real life!
Hello again and thank you for checking out another update.
Gabriele and I ordered the parts to build our 500 in real life! Some parts needed a custom paint-job but I think in the end it turned out quite nicely. Soon the model will be sent over to Gabriele so he can add the custom decals and take some professional pictures. For now enjoy my rather poor photography skills:

That's it for now but stay tuned for more updates!
New Abarth Version + Updates on the Car
Thank you very much! Over the past few weeks we've already been able to accumulate 3000+ supports and we hope many more will come.
To celebrate that and the fact that our project now is a Staff Pick we made an Abarth version of our 500 as suggested by several people.
Its uinque features are:
- Sportive red/white colour scheme
- Struts to keep the hood open like in the real Abarth
- New side-mirror
- Roll and reinforcement bars on the inside
- Windscreen made of transparent panel pieces
- Custom Abarth prints
(Click the images to view them in high resolution.)
Tweaks and Updates on the Car
We're reading each and every comment on our project carefully and as quite a lot of people suggested it we decided to add an actual windscreen to the car. We're pretty happy with the result and the look could even be enhanced by adding some custom prints on the transparent panel pieces. However due to the new windscreen the dashboard also had to be tweaked a little bit but it's barely noticeable. Furthermore the look of the back-bumper also has been improved. Please tell us in the comment section whether you like the changes or not.
Our 500 conquers the web!
Over the past few days many articles about our 500 popped up on lots of international websites and blogs. As a thank you we'll post a list of the main articles as well as a new picture made by Gabriele in this update.
