Hi guys, it's been a long time!
I would like to present you my new project (and first about insects:) The Butterfly Hawk-moth, (or try saying it in Polish - Furczak Gołąbek... hehe ;)
Macroglossum stellatarum may not be the most beautiful butterfly in the world, but for me, it is a very interesting creature.
Hawk-moths are not very large, they have a wingspan of about 40mm. They inhabit temperate regions of Eurasia, and like a real hummingbird, they feed on the nectar of tube-shaped flowers using their
proboscis (about 26mm long... so long!).
They are probably very rare in Poland, but I was lucky and saw this little guy in my mom's garden :)
I hope you like my vision of Furczak Gołąbek (please do not translate it on google, because that sounds like some food ;).
Thank you and all the best to you!
