After weeks planning and buying the necessary pieces, Machu Picchu in micro scale is finally real. Here is a teaser image of the final build. I will be uploading several more pictures, videos, and more over the weekend. Thank you for your support, you guys are awesome!

Después de semanas de planificación y compra de las piezas necesarias, Machu Picchu en micro escala finalmente es realidad. Aquí tienen una imagen “teaser” del modelo final. Voy a cargar varias imágenes, vídeos, y más durante el fin de semana. ¡Gracias por su apoyo, son lo máximo!

With help of my good friend and co-worker Dong Yoon Park I was able to play with the Machu Picchu model as a hologram using Microsoft HoloLens. There was some rendering issues but it was still very fun :) Check it out!

Con la ayuda de mi buen amigo y compañero de trabajo Dong Yoon Park fui capaz de jugar con el modelo de Machu Picchu como un holograma usando Microsoft HoloLens. Hubo problemas con el rendering pero fue muy divertido :) ¡Echale un vistazo!

I have been purchasing all the pieces I need to build the model (from Bricklink). Once I have all the pieces I will post pictures of the build. Stay tuned!

I have been asked why I used brown for Huayna Picchu instead of green? The main reason was that I wanted to only use pieces with existing colors. Unfortunately, several of the pieces I used for the mountain do not exist in any shade of green. The second reason was that I felt brown gave the model more contrast and felt less monotone. Here are some renders using “Sand Green” and “Green”, let me know what you think in the comments!

¿Me han preguntado por qué he usado marrón para el Huayna Picchu en lugar de verde? La razón principal por la cual utilicé marrón, fue que sólo quería usar piezas de colores existentes. Desafortunadamente, varias de las piezas que utilicé para la montaña no existen en ningún tono de verde. La segunda razón fue para dar al modelo más contraste para que se vea menos monótono. ¡Éstos son algunos renders con “Sand Green” y “Green”, déjenme saber lo que piensan en los comentarios!
