The Eem 6/6 was delivered in 1970 to the Swiss Federal Railways by the SLM (Swiss Factory for Machines and Locomotives). It was the first hybrid locomotive in service in Switzerland: the front three axles were powered by electric motors with a linkage, while the back ones, mounted in a permanently-attached tender, were powered by a diesel engine. The overall weight was 104 tons.
The 1:38 model is motorized by two M-motors.
