One day I involuntarily found the eight-wheel drive airport crash tender by Rosenbauer Panther so attractive and futuristic, so I had a strong desire to realize it in LEGO! This fire trunk in real life can accommodate 16,800 liters of fire extinguishing agents, accelerate from 0 to 80 km/h within 25 seconds, and travel at a maximum speed of 135 km/h, all thanks to its powerful twin Volvo D16 engine capable of outputting 1,400 HP.
After a several months of working in front of my computer, I had finally finished creating it using LEGO Digital Designer. I tried to capture as much exterior details of the fire truck as possible, such as front panorama windshield, openable glass doors and side cabins, turnable front bumper and roof water turrets, dual-side lift open engine room, etc. I also built the interior such as driver's and crew cab, engine including movable pistons and gears out of my own imagination since I do know what the real ones look like. In fact I added a motor inside the middle cabin to drive the gears, which can actually move the four rear wheels forward and backward.
I hope my creation of such a well-equipped airport crash tender, inspired by Rosenbauer Panther 8x8, will provide LEGO lovers, airport and fire engine fans with endless hours of wonderful building experience and enjoyment. Thank you!
