Mechanical Organisms.
In the distant future, the environment of the earth was harsh.
Highly developed AI created mecha adapted to its natural environment.
The mecha were designed with reference to living organisms.
We can learn a lot from organisms that have survived since ancient times.

The “giant salamander,” the motif of this work, is one of the world's largest amphibians among living species.
It is found in Japan, China, and the United States.

In Japan, the salamander is called “sansho fish” because the mucus that it produces from its body surface when it feels threatened smells like Japanese pepper “sansho.

In Japan, the Chinese giant salamander, which was once imported from China as a food source, has become wild and has become a problem due to hybridization with native Japanese species.

Apart from the “Chinese giant prickly ash,” there used to be a species called “sligo giant prickly ash,” the largest of the Chinese prickly ash species, which was thought to have already become extinct.

However, the “Sligo sansho” was accidentally mixed in with the “Chinese giant sansho” imported to Japan, and the genes of several individuals were confirmed in Japan.
They are trying to artificially breed them using cloning technology.

We hope that this work will spark an interest in salamanders.
