Update Pending

the latest update to the Unseen University Library is pending review but will include an updated version of the Luggage! I wanted to give the Luggage more personality which I think I have been able to capture in the latest design!

See.. Great A’Tuin the turtle comes..

After having it's big reveal at the International Discworld Convention, I feel so relieved to be able to share images of my Great A'Tuin build with everyone! I am terrible at secrets and it's been finished for over a month! You might of seen it on social media if you follow me, but in case you don't, I thought I would share here too!

The build contains around 16,000 pieces including everything inside for structural purposes. The 4 elephants are attached to 4x4 round bricks with pins, and slot into place using an axel to make movement easier, and allow them to stand at the right angle.

The map on top is a replica of the official Discworld Atlas by Stephen Briggs and Terry Pratchett (although I am thinking that the counterweight continent needs to be recoloured!). The only real thing it is lacking is the rimfall, which I plan to add soon!

Even with it's size (shown with micro A'Tuin for comparison), the only real structural weak point are the front flippers, but a few plates should sort that out.i am tempted to make them detachable and joined by technic pins to help with transport!

I hope you like the build, let me know your thoughts in comments!

Mini Great A'Tuin

"In a distant and secondhand set of dimensions, in an astral plane that was never meant to fly, the curling star-mists waver and part…

See…

Great A’Tuin the turtle comes", and it's mini!

As a small thank you for the support, my mini Great A’Tuin instructions (and parts list) are now available for free download on my Ko-Fi page!

Happy building and make sure to share your Discworld LEGO builds on socials with the hashtag #BrickMorpork!

Well, as Bon Jovi once said...

Whoa, we're half way there!

Thank you to everyone who has helped the Discworld Unseen University Library project reach 5000 supporters. I am genuinely surprised and over the moon to have reached the third milestone in just over a month and excited to see how quickly we can get the project to that elusive 10k mark!

Many of you probably noticed that my update to the Library went live today bringing 2 noticeable changes:

Firstly, the wizard who was tending to the books is now officially Rincewind the WizZard! Rincewind, the leading character in several books in the Discworld series and assistant librarian is now a featured character and, with the beast from the dungeon dimension reaching out between the books below him, is in his usual spot of bother.

And where Rincewind goes, you can be sure that the Luggage is not far behind grinning menacingly!

I have a plan for another update in the near future which will add an easter egg or 2 (or 41 to be precise) that I think will really finish off this tribute to Sir Terry Pratchett.

Thank you again for your support, please make sure to share the project everywhere you can and remember.. the Turtle Moves!

A belated thank you to everyone who has supported the Unseen University project here on LEGO Ideas and allowed it to pass the 2nd milestone, 1000 supporters!

As promised I will be releasing a set of free instructions at every 1000 goal so I have put together a special set of instructions for my Detritus MOC which you can now download for free over on my Kofi page: Free Instructions for Sergeant Detritus!

It was requested, so here he is! The Luggage has now been added to the design!

Wizzard!

By popular demand, the wizard featured in the Library build will soon be getting an extra "z"!

I had never really intended the wizard in my build to be the popular Discworld character Rincewind but after many comments, I am making some small adjustments to change the generic wizard into the Universities only Wizzard!

A full change update will happen shortly!

1000 Supporter Goal is Close!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the project so far!

I never expected that after just 3 days that I would already be so close to the 2nd LEGO Ideas milestone of 1000 supporters!

As a little incentive to support and share, I will be releasing some free Discworld LEGO instructions for every 1000 supports the project receives!

Thank you again for your support and remember... The Turtle Moves!
