The arts are such an important piece of society, and few places in the world showcase incredible talent like Lincoln Center in New York City. After visiting the site multiple times, I was inspired to capture it in Lego.
Lincoln Center is a complex of indoor and outdoor theaters, music halls, and architectural marvels, and my goal was to capture those incredible features in this architectural model. As more than just a building, the model highlights the iconic fountain plaza, the sloped grass wall above the reflecting pool, and the outdoor amphitheater in addition to the main buildings of the opera house, two performance halls, and cinema.
The model is positioned on a 30 x 36 base and is made of 1,003 pieces. There are multiple building techniques, including SNOT to texture the walls and offset heights to give the aesthetic feel. Some of the small details include the ascending staircase and elaborate chandelier in the opera house.
This build will make a great set for anyone who loves architecture sets of iconic world locations. I've also built this set with sourced bricks, and it looks fantastic on display. A cabinet, desk, or bookshelf will be a wonderful home for this set.
