You are looking at the new Shannon class lifeboats with Supacat launch and recovery system (L&RS), which are just ending into service all around the United Kingdom and Southern Ireland with the RNLI. For people not familiar with the RNLI it is a charity which receives no funds from the government.
The Shannon life boats with the Supacat L&RS is used to launch and recover the lifeboat, from locations where a Slipway direct from the lifeboats house is not available and has to be launched from beach locations. The Supacat is an amphibious vehicle which can be driven into the sea to launch the Shannon lifeboat and used to recover the lifeboat from the water or beach.
The Lego Model of the Supacat is a functioning model with the Lifeboat carriage assembly able to lift/tip, winch and rotate the lifeboat, this accurately simulates the real Supacat
