Great Sphinx of Giza

I decided to build this set after I built the other half of the Lego Pyramid of Giza set, and realizing a different concept of the back (I've not replied the other half, so instead of the temples and houses, I've made desert with dunes... but this is an other story! :) ).
I based my work solely on images of the Sphinx found on the internet, without looking at other potential projects, so that it would be entirely my own idea.
To immerse the Sphinx in the valleys of Egypt, in addition to creating rock and dune effects, I decided to include the Nile river with a small bend. I also added some flora along its banks to recreate the green areas typical of the historical Nile floods. And to make the Nile river even more 'geo-realistic,' I created a small river island.
The dark brown bricks represent old ruins, remnants of ancient buildings, gateways to a temple, and old roads.
Focusing on the Sphinx, I can say that it underwent many modifications during construction. Initially, for example, the paws were much more spread apart and therefore did not resemble the real statue, so I brought them closer together. The body was perhaps the easiest part, but the head… well, that was a long and exhausting challenge. In fact, the initial designs and trials were nowhere near the face and head you see now. I think I rebuilt it at least five times!
I believe that this set, if it becomes an official Lego Ideas set, could be a classic Architecture set, to pair perfectly with the Pyramid of Giza.

I really hope you like the project and that you vote for it! Thank you!
