I have always had an interest in labyrinths and mazes and wanted to see if a labyrinth route could be created in three dimensions in LEGO. The resulting model is based on a classical orthogonal labyrinth in which the route, as opposed to the enclosing walls, is expressed rising and falling based on a symmetrical orthogonal grid. The resulting model is quite architectural and was very satisfying to build and it maybe that other LEGO fans would be interested in exploring it. As a concept it can be scaled up and can be varied in a number of different ways but this version has around 2000 pieces which seems a sufficient number to make it interesting but not too expensive to build. I shall post some other versions in due course.
