Beach Cottage From Charles Dickens' David Copperfield

Set on Yarmouth Beach in the mid 1800s, this enchanting place from Charles Dickens’ famous novel features a beached boat, turned into a cosy cottage. Along with the hospitality, warmth and kindness of fisherman Mr Peggoty and his relatives, it provides for an unforgettable stay for young David Copperfield.

The idea includes numerous references to the novel, yet the ultimate intend was to capture the wonder and charm as perceived through young David’s eyes. Can you feel the magic too? Then please support this idea becoming an actual Lego set by voting and sharing :-).

About the model
Located between the sand cliffs and the waves, the cottage is surrounded by several fishing utilities, including some crates with nets and floats, crab traps (although not too sturdy) and a rowboat with a fishing rod. For a quick peek inside, the cottage itself features a foldable hull, revealing two bedrooms in the stern; a kitchenette, dining corner and living area in the middle section and a pantry with a removable hammock in the bow. For full access, the keel and top front hull parts are quickly removed. The light in the window can be lit by pressing a patch of beach.
