August Updates (2/3)
Hello guys, here's my second update of the month, this time to show you my improvements on the back or stern of the ship. I rebuilt the back to create a stronger connection that not only wont fall apart, but also looks nicer in my oppinion.
For those who don't know, the small gap on the second row of black tiles is actually accurate to the ship. That gap is where the anchors would be. Unfortunately, I do not have the proper pieces to create anchors for the front or stern.
Take Care
August Updates (1/3)
Thank you all again for your support for this idea, I know its not the most popular out there, but nonetheless its my most sucessful project yet. The most support any RMS Queen Mary Models have gotten is 453 supporters, hopefully it can beat that, I think so. In this update, I want to show you the updated design. Unfortunately, I will be spreading out the changes that I have made into 3 updates because there is so much that has changed. This update in particular is about the Bow or Front of the ship:
Here's the front:
I have learned how to insert decals onto curved pieces using STUDio's part designer. The name has moved forward and where the name used to be I put more portholes.
I also updated the entire bridge. Starting with the lower portion, I translated the slope and tile prints into a continuous 1x4 sloped curve.
The middle bridge was more than just a simple re-print. The design I used for that section was based off of the modifcations made when she became a hotel, I didn't realize that until I looked at a historical picture of when she was in-service. Personally, I also think the smaller windows for the middle bridge looks better than the full doors.
Finally, I added the offical bridge where the officers would stand watch during voyage. This section also includes the ship's whistle/ horn directly behind the 2x2 tile used for the bridge.
More updates to come this month, so stay tuned.
Thanks for the 100 and Here's some minifigs
Thank you all very much for your support, I know 102 supporters may not seem a lot, but this is officially my most supported project that I have ever made, and the buck doesn't stop there. As there are more supporters, I will continue to update the idea with more minifigures, diaramas of places inside the ship, and etc.
For this update, I have create a couple of minifigures that would have been on-board the ship. In order, they include:
- A Ghost
- The Captain (not any one in particular)
- A Waiter
- Waiter with out any accessories
- The design for drinks (water)
- Passengers
The Captain has a custom torso to match what it looks like in real life including the arm badge that indicates his rank as Captain. There's also a ghost (the classic old style) because the ship is haunted. Hopefully in the future I can create a section such as a resturant to where they would normally be during a voyage on the Queen Mary. More updates to come, until then.
