The Medieval Wizard's Observatory tracks the stars through the night and is powered by a working water wheel. The king's messenger has just arrived on his cart with fresh food and an important message for the young wizard. The wizard and his page study the sky by night and sleep by day under the observatory.
Video of the water wheel in action:
The set features a rotating observatory driven by the spinning water wheel. There is a primitive telescope and a notetaking desk in the firelit observatory. The front doors are operable and a hinge allows access for play inside where the wizard and his page can work at the desk, sleep on the bed, and study the star map. There is also an Easter egg for one of my favorite wizards!
I created this set after messing around with some of my LEGO gears and decided to turn it into a LEGO Ideas project.
