Welcome to the ski chalet! The place to ski! There is lots going on around the ski chalet! The kids happily have a snowball fight while Dad and Grandma ski down the slopes! Once the fun outside is done, the kids head inside to hear Grandpa’s stories by the fireplace and open gifts! Tired from the slopes, Grandma and Dad head in for hot cocoa and relax in the loft, listening as one of the kids plays his new saxophone! Soon, it is time for dinner, and this family enjoys a feast that Mom has kindly prepared for them! While they eat, they reflect on a peaceful day on the slopes!
For this build, I wanted to create a snowy ski house with all the fun holiday features and skiing features too. The idea first came from a building competition my sister and I were having amongst ourselves. Afterwards, I came to like my build, and kept tweaking it until I came up with this finished product. This product idea includes the following:
- Approximately 3,500 pieces
- 7 minifigures (two parents, grandparents and three kids)
- A removable roof
- A removable loft
- A living room with a decorated Christmas tree and presents with toys inside
- A small kitchen with a large table
- A loft with a view of the slopes and a bed
The hardest part of this build was making the ski slope look natural and unique while not overwhelming the focus: the chalet. I think my favorite element of this build is how well the color of the house goes with the shutters and the way the siding on the side of the chalet turned out. I think this should be a set because it is unique and brings to life a season not explored in a set here yet: winter. I also think that it has a cool architecture style and many details that add to its character. I hope you like this build!
