LEGO OPTICAL ILLUSIONS
Trick your mind with these brick built optical illusions! As you can see, the illusions work best when looked at from slightly further away, but let’s take a closer look at them…
CAFE WALL ILLUSION
All of the grey lines in this grid are parallel, and perfectly horizontal! The offset of the checkerboard pattern makes them appear to be bending.
SCINTILLATING GRID ILLUSION
Stare at the grid and chase the small grey dots around as they appear and disappear in front of you! As you look at one of the white dots, notice how ghostlike grey spots appear elsewhere on the grid’s intersections, but as soon as you try to look directly at them, they disappear and others appear elsewhere.
LARGE AND SMALL CIRCLES
Both of the blue circles in this illusion are the same size! They appear different because of the juxtaposing black dots around them.
GRAYSCALE COLOUR ILLUSION
Have a look at the grey plates in between the black and white lines on each side. They may look different, but these are actually the exact same shade of grey!
I hope you like them! These would make a perfect lego set, as you can build the illusions yourselves and see that there really is no trickery, whilst also learning about a real-life kind of magic.
