Capo d'Otranto or Punta Palascìa is the easternmost point of Italy; the tip, protruding into the Canale d'Otranto, is located in the municipal area of Otranto, an Apulian city of Salento in the province of Lecce!
It is a tradition that on New Year's Eve many people gather under the lighthouse to admire the first sunrise of the new year!
