The building: The Bremen Town Hall is one of the most beautiful town halls in Germany. With its unique Weser Renaissace style facade it is an outstanding example of Brick Gothic architecture in Europe. Along with the Roland statue in front, which is representing the sovereignity of the Hanseatic city of Bremen for over 600 years, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The model: The challenge was to build a model in a small scale, fitting into LEGO's architecture collection, yet with a facade as detailed as possible. The design without visible studs in the windows required many horizontal and vertical half steps and led to a construction that is almost solid inside. For a first version of the model I used sand green bricks for the roof, until the real town hall got a new copper roof and I had to change the roof colour into reddish brown. The decal I made for the shield of the minifig of Roland is underlaid with gold leaf.

The model measures 14.4 cm wide, 11.2 cm deep and 10.5 cm high and includes approximately 600 bricks.

Bremen Town Hall and Roland would be a great LEGO modell because of the elaborate techniques for advanced LEGO builders and because of the Roland minifig. If you want to see this model as a real set please vote and share the link with your friends. Thank you for your support !

Vielen Dank !
