Why wait for your battery to charge when you can swap it for a charged one faster than you can fill your gas tank?
The build shows NIO's last generation battery swap station for NIO's Electric Vehicles. It allows the user to replace an empty or defective battery with a replacement battery in under 5 minutes. The entire process is fully automated, even the car enters the swap pod by itself. Every station hold more than a dozen battery packs of different energy content sizes. NIO plans to build swap station all over the world in the next few years.
I built it because I support sustainable innovation and I believe it could be a really cool feature accompanying 8-stud wide brick built EV scale models requiring fresh juicy batteries. Also, we need future-proof next generation gas stations in our LEGO cities! ;-)
