Autumn Café in the LEGO Modular Cityscape
I thought it might be fun to share images displaying what Autumn Café looks like when placed side-by-side between two official LEGO modular sets - Detective's Office [10246] on the left and Parisian Restaurant [10243] on the right. My decision to make the café only one story was purposeful. Even though the allure of adding more levels, more details, and more design opportunities was definitely tempting, I wanted this set to 1] accurately represent local coffee shops which I've seen in reality - most of which are small, one-story buildings - and 2] differentiate itself from other modular sets - most of which are two-story structures. I also opted to forgo the standard technic-pin connection system and instead bring in some tree and bench builds along the sides of the model - helping to bring in some color and put the "Autumn" in Autumn Café. Overall, I'm extremely happy with how this model fits in with LEGO's official modular offerings, in terms of color scheme, detail, and size. Of course, I would love to know what you think. What are your thoughts on how this set fits into a LEGO modular cityscape? I would love to know. Comments and criticisms are always welcome and appreciated! Thank you and happy building!
Small Update: Roof Foliage
Supporter and fellow LEGO lover TylerBricks recently brought to my attention in the comments section that this project might benefit from the addition of a few "leaves" on top of the roof. You know what? I agree. Considering the amount of foliage littering the sidewalks and the awning of the café, it only makes sense that a few stray leaves would find their way to the roof. I imagine that one or two of these foliage pieces [Design ID 11609-Dark Orange & 33291-Reddish Brown] would be included in the extra pieces of this set, allowing each builder to add extra leaves to the model wherever they see fit.
A huge thank you to TylerBricks for the great suggestion! If you have any thoughts or feedback which you would like to give regarding Autumn Café, please don't hesitate to reach out, leave a comment, and let me know! Lastly, a HUGE thank you to all of you supporting the project! I can't tell you how delightful it is to connect with all of you beautiful LEGO lovers! Happy building!
