This set portrays a giant Japanese Torii gate standing in a river. I built it because I feel that it fits well with the Japanese cultural representation of LEGO. I believe that the building techniques used in the set match with Lego conventions, using a hotdog piece as the boat in this set as a way to present this Torii gate as bigger than it looks, additionally there is also a cross-section of the landscape which I feel adds to the dynamic of the set. The complementary sakura tree in the set emphasises the immense size of the torii gate.
