Little Witch Academia: The Towers Of Luna Nova

Little Witch Academia (リトルウィッチアカデミア) is an anime produced by studio Trigger, two films (2013, 2015) and a 25 part series (2017).

In a world where magic is fading, Atsuko 'Akko' Kagari is enthralled by a Shiny Chariot magic show and years later enrols in the Luna Nova Academy to learn witchcraft. After finding Chariot's wand, the Shiny Rod, Akko makes it her mission to master it's secrets and one day return it to her hero. Despite having no magical background and very little talent, she is determined to become the greatest of witches and bring back the wonder of magic to the world.

This was an action packed show filled with comedy, drama and a wonderful storyline. The characters are all unique and the setting of Luna Nova has plenty to explore. I choose to model the two main towers, which are set close to each other in the grounds of Luna Nova, due to their dynamic structure and repeated use throughout the show.

The towers are known as The New Moon Tower, which houses the Sorcerer's Stone, and The Observatory which was used for broom flying lessons.

Replicating the complex architecture was challenging and I hope I have captured the spirit of the towers; the New Moon tower can be opened up to access the inner rooms, one of which I have decorated as Croix's laboratory as seen in the series. The Observatory's roof can be removed to reveal a room as well, and at it's base I have included a woodland filled with plants and mushrooms for Sucy to forage.

In total this model has around 2200 pieces and I have included several of the wands and broomsticks from the series along with the main characters often seen at this location. One of the unique features I added to this model was the transparent columns that allow the witches on their broomsticks, and Croix's flying discs, to be suspended mid-flight.

I hope you like this model and remember, a believing heart is your magic!

Support this and my other models and hopefully one day... #LegoDoesAnime.
