Miami Vice (1984-89): Crockett's Scarab Boat Chase

This set is inspired by the classic tv show Miami Vice. This set features four minifigures, including Crockett, Tubbs and Hank, a detective aiding them in this case, as well as Lieutenant Castillo. All figures come with accessories. Total pieces: 494

I chose to build this set because the show is iconic. Miami Vice is famous for its style; both visually and in a fashion sense, the music and of course, the cars. The show has gone on to influence many other shows and movies and redefined what quality people could expect from television going forward. Crockett and Tubbs are a quintessential buddy cop pair and I have done my best to recreate their clothing and likeness as best as I could. The boat is based off of the "Scarab" seen in multiple episodes of the original series. This particular instance is taken from the third episode of season 2. This scene depicts the house on stilts where our heroes' burst through the wooden paneling to begin a daring assault on a neighbouring house, under the watchful eye of their Lieutenant! I have raised the boat above the water level and added waves to create a sense of speed and urgency to the set.

This set would make an excellent addition to anyone's collection. Whether you are a fan of the original series and nostalgic for the 80s or just like the look of it on display. The display base gives it a clean look that wouldn't look out of place on anyone's shelf. It would also look great next to other diorama sets based on other pop culture IP's. This set is evocative of the bright colours and flashy clothes associated with the show and the time period. There is even space at the front of the base (thanks to some vertical tiles) for the Miami Vice logo to be printed! The hatch at the back of the boat also opens to store unused accessories!
