The Christmas Market

Ho, ho, ho, dear visitor and welcome to my little Lego Christmas Market! Enter through the gate and enjoy yourself in this cozy little market. Directly to your left you can find the Waffle Store with its huge super-sized snowman on the roof. In its display are laying already some fresh warm waffles. You can choose whether you want them with powder sugar, marmalade, or chocolate.
Next to it is the Candy Store which looks like a gingerbread house, where a nice old lady sells all kinds of sweets. Whether you prefer muffins, doughnuts, or cookies: For sure you find something to your liking. Unfortunately, someone dropped his cup right in front of it and spilled the drink. Let's hope no one slips over the frozen spill.
For your next stop, you arrive at the center piece: the Christmas Pyramid! Here the owners sell hot fruit punch to warm you up during the cold winter day. Both, the propeller at the top and the figurines in the middle rotate. Whether that is due to the heat of the candles or the gear wheel on the backside is open to your imagination :)
In the center you can find some places where the Minifigures can meet and consume the food and drinks they bought. Of course, a decorated Christmas tree with some presents should not be missing.
On the other side of the Christmas Pyramid is the Toy Store with its snow-covered roof. A small boy just purchased a toy plane. Difficult decision considering the different toys they offer. In front of the store some kids built a small snowman with a carrot as nose.
Last but not least the hungry visitor can also find some non-sweet food at the sausage stand. Of course, they also offer a vegetarian sausage. A young couple in front of it just bought some and seem to enjoy it. Next to it is a small fireplace to warm yourself up. To protect the adjacent trees, a few stones were set around it.
That was a short tour through my Lego Christmas Market. If you look closely, you might find more little details to discover. I hope you enjoyed the visit!

Special features of this model are:
  • By rotating the gear wheel on the backside of the Christmas Pyramid, you can spin its top propeller and the figurines in the middle part.
  • You can freely choose on how you want to display and arrange your Christmas Market. You can close it off in a full circle or have it open in a straight line (or any angles in-between). You can also rearrange the stores to your liking or display every item stand-alone.
  • As the Christmas Market consists of several stand-alone units, you can build it together with your family or your friends.

I drew a lot if inspiration from the small Christmas Market near my flat, which also features a giant Christmas Pyramid from which they sell hot drinks like mulled wine. I live in Germany, so Christmas Markets are a big part of the pre-Christmas time. I love it to go there to meet with friends, family and neighbors for food and drinks in a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. And as a friend from the US put it: They are so Christmassy! :)

I think this could be a nice addition to your Lego Winter Village / Lego city or serve as a stand-alone piece for your Christmas decoration. Its modularity should give you many display options. And maybe you come up with additional stands on your own to make and even bigger Christmas market (or you could add a carousel or an ice-skating area).

I hope you enjoy my project! If you want to see it become reality, please support it and share it on your social media.

Keep on building!
