Inspired by what is arguably the cutest crab, this build features one of my most exciting Lego Technic mechanisms! The ability to scuttle when it is moved side-to-side.
This clever mechanism is hidden within the models base, where a large pulley wheel turns a set of gears that ultimately collide with the legs on the model. Each leg moves opposite the next, allowing for a very lively and faithful recreation of how these fascinating animals really get around!
The eyes can be folded down within the models shell for protection, and each arm is able to move on a set of ball and socket joints, allowing for wonderful expressiveness with this realistic model.
Including facts within the building manual about the Atlantic Ghost Crab, where is lives, and it's habits can help bring awareness to the wonderful creatures we share our planet with like this one! This build also includes a small Carolina Green Anole as a friend to chase around which features moving legs to simulate movement.
