The inspiration for this project was, looking back, probably a mix of my love of the amazing animal-like vehicles in the chima line, and a desire to incorporate the Iconic Lego minifigure into my model. The legs and arms of the mech came fairly quickly, but the torso and the attachment of the head took many revisions to get just right. Over all, my goal was to attain the basic form of a minifigure while applying more greebling on the outside to give the mech a more robot-like appearance. I also put emphasis on its durability as well as its playability: the legs and ankles are mounted with ball joints, the shoulders and head are attached with the more standard clip/bar connection, and the elbows are on swivel joints.
