Some people look at Lego urinals and ask, "Why?" I look at Lego urinals and ask, "Why not?"
- Ben Franklin, probably
Friends, countrymen, Arsenal fans - I give you the ultimate collector's item, the Lego Urinal. Standing at just over 25 bricks high, this model boasts innovative building techniques, a sturdy frame, and an eye catching design. A display stand with a minifig scale replica and information plaque rounds out the build.
While a great many people could see this model as fantastic, there are some who would prefer the word “cheeky.” Some of you will undoubtedly take me for a fool, submitting a urinal to Lego Ideas. "That'll never make it to the shelves," you say, or "No one in their right mind would ever buy that!"
Honestly, fair.
But as a wise man named Doug once said, "Never tell me the odds." Actually maybe it was Luke or something. In any case, I say let's test that theory. If it was me, I'd buy a Lego urinal if it 1) looked impeccable 2) was a budget friendly set and 3) was a fantastic building experience. I think that this urinal, though perhaps an unusual submission, fulfills all three requirements. Clocking in at 453 pieces, this set is instantly recognizable, won't break your bank, and utilizes a number of clever and satisfying building techniques to recreate the smooth edges and clean surfaces of a porcelain urinal. While some may argue that this model doesn't have the class of an old fashioned typewriter or a glossy grand piano, I’ll let you consider, dear reader, which of these three items you have historically found yourself in most dire need of. I am of the opinion that this model would be a unique addition to any Lego collection. This wonderful conversation starter could be displayed anywhere from a bathroom shelf to a living room (depending on how many questions you’re willing to answer). Who says you can't be inspired by seeing a beautiful replica of a wonderful invention of sanitation? At any rate, if you've read this far, might as well support.
