Lady Penelopy's FAB 1 From Thunderbirds

This is my reincarnation of the FAB 1, Lady Penelopy's preferred mode of transport which featured in the Thunderbirds television series from the 1960's.

I became a fan of Thunderbirds when I was 8 or 9 years old when it was on TV on a Saturday morning in the mid to late 70's. I was also building my own Lego models at the time, albeit with different coloured bricks, so sometimes it was hard to tell what I'd actually built!! Over the years my building ability improved, and I have since built some interesting models

The idea for building this came to me after seeing a smaller scale FAB 1 and I immediately wondered if I could build a much larger scaled one. After figuring out what pieces I could use I set about designing and onto proof building by model, this took over 2 years!!

The model itself is 46cm long, 18cm wide and 11.5 cm high. It features workable steering which is operated from one if the exhaust pipes and a removable canopy.

I believe this would make a great Lego set due to the FAB 1 being an extremely iconic vehicle. The colour is striking and it would make an amazing centre piece for any Thunderbirds or Lego collection, and then there's the playability factor with the working steering and removable canopy.
