This set is designed based on the initial scenes in the arena where Padme, Anakin and Obi Wan face off against the reek, the Acklay and the Nexu. Although this set focuses on the Nexu arena beast it is designed as part of a wave of potential sets featuring one arena beast each.
The Nexu is a fierce feline rat-like creature that is sent to attack Padme. When padme is tied up to a post she sneaks a pin in and unlocks her chains to climb up the post to safety. The Nexu beast climbs up after her and attacks her ripping three open gashes into her back, but on its second attack Padme manages to swing down and kick the Nexu to the ground.
This is the scene that the set depicts. Minifigures included are Padme Amidala (tatooine padme has been substituted because I don't have the latest edition with scratch marks but the real set would feature the respective variant of padme), two geonosian warriors and the brick built nexu creature.
The set is designed for a middle of the range price point around $40-$50 AU dollars and is suited for kids and adults who have a passion for Star Wars. The arena post to which padme is chained is made from tubular Lego pieces and is strengthened by a long shaft piece through the centre. The chain included in the set allows playability with Padme and attaches to her hands. Included with Padme is a blaster similar to the one she had during the arena battle.
The arena beast is brick built which allows a creative representation of its bristly back and angular body. The feline head features red glowing eyes and sharp teeth. The body is poseable and can be sat up.
Also included in the set are two geonosians which make the set a good minifigure building purchase and also add to the playability of the set and collection. These geonosians chain up Padme Amidala to the post.
Although this set is quite simple, it is designed to allow people to collect parts of the geonosian arena, and would make a good set as part of a wave of geonosian arena sets.
