The humpback wahle, one of the biggest living creatures on this planet, is brought to life in this kinetic sculpture. By moving up and down the interlocked segments of the whale a life like swimming motion is achieved.
Although the whale is the largest animal in this diorama, it is by far not the only one. Several fish, a ray, an octopus, a turtle, jellyfish, a lobster, clams and even a moving shark inhabit the reef that builds the base of this model. The moving motion can either be achieved the way I designed it (with a motor and a battery box) or with some simple modifications you could use a crank and make it move by hand.
