Thanks for the support! I'll see you in the next one!

Today is the final day this project will be able to receive more support. It's hard to describe what it has been like to see all of your support for almost two years! It's been an incredible experience reaching this point, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to all who believed in my project. When I first started the monorail years ago, I intended to eventually make an Ideas page for it. That first model gains less than 200 supporters. I decided I wouldn't let that project be the end of the monorail, and I submitted it again with many improvements. Now almost two years later, we reached over 2,400. Having that many people support this project means so much to me, as I never would have thought it could get that far. I can still remember watching the notifications come in and the supporters go from 300 to 600 in a few days. (I still have no idea what caused such a big spike, but I'm not complaining!) I think my best memory during this project was taking the model to Brickworld Chicago 2019 during the 60th anniversary of the Mark I's opening at Disneyland. Only a day after the 60th anniversary, we hit 1,000 supporters.

I first started designing the Mark I monorail in 2017, and I've been trying to make the perfect model ever since. Recently I've been taking another look at the monorail, and I'm happy to announce I've created version 3.0! The new Ideas project for this next monorail has already been submitted, and is just awaiting approval! In order to stay up to date on the next project, check out the official LEGO Ideas Disney Monorail Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/lego.disneyland.monorail/?hl=en

Thanks so much for all of your support and wonderful messages, and I hope the third time will be the charm!

Disneyland Monorail 60th Anniversary!

Hello everybody! It’s been six months since the project was first uploaded, and I can honestly say it’s been an incredible time! My previous monorail project never even got passed 200 supporters, and look where we are now! Almost 1,000! Today just so happens to be the 60th anniversary of the Disneyland Mark I Monorail, so I’ve got a couple of announcements to make! First, to celebrate the 60th birthday of the monorails, I created a new and improved “UCS” monorail that expands on areas of the replica that were previously lacking. I'm unsure what I'll use this model for, but I might end up selling it as a kit of my own if this ideas project doesn't work out. Second, I got to meet Bob Gurr himself! This last February, I had a chance to take Bob's "Waltland" tour around Los Angeles. When I was there I got to show him my design as well as tell him about this page! It was absolutely incredible to meet a legend like him, and if you're a fan of Disney I'd highly recommend his tour! Finally, I'll be at Brickworld Chicago this weekend! The 60th anniversary of the monorails just so happens to coincide with the convention, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to display my models of the Mark I, II, and III.

I'm posting this pretty late in the day since I was honestly hoping we'd hit 1,000 on the anniversary, but it doesn't seem like we'll make it. With less than 15 supporters to go, I'm really happy with the progress being made! Even if the goal isn't reached today, the number of supporters will still reach 1,000 sometime this week! With that, I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has supported the project. After all, we wouldn't be here without you!
