"Small Gift, Big Smile".

That's the simple idea at the heart of Sanrio and its extensive library of characters. Since 1960, Sanrio has delighted fans of all ages -- showering us with cute characters that have brought happiness all around the world. With an affinity for all things kawaii, Sanrio has given us classic creations such as My Melody, Keroppi, Badtz-Maru, and the iconic Hello Kitty (who will be celebrating 50 years in 2024).

Since her very first appearance, Hello Kitty has become one of the most beloved media franchises of all time, appearing in everything from movies, coffee shops, and theme parks, to everyday items, like clothing, accessories and toys. Hello Kitty is a staple of Japanese pop culture and is one of the most globally recognizable characters ever created.

"Say hello to Hello Kitty and her friends!"

This proposed LEGO set celebrates the enduring legacy of Hello Kitty and her many Sanrio buddies. The set is largely inspired by the recent animated show Hello Kitty and Friends Supercute Adventures. It also pays tribute to Sanrio's long history of adorable gift items and accessories.

It depicts four mini buildings from Sanrio Town: Hello Kitty's Café, Keroppi's Mini Mart, My Melody's Gift Shop and Badtz-Maru's Arcade. Each structure opens up and reveals a little play set filled with dozens of hidden Easter eggs that reference scores of other characters, including Tuxedo Sam, Little Twin Stars, Pompompurin, and many more. The set comes with minifigures and mini builds that allow you to build your very own Hello Kitty, Badtz-Maru, Keroppi, My Melody, Kuromi and Cinnamoroll.

Staying true to the legacy of Sanrio, each building also doubles as a cute desk accessory that's sure to brighten the most dull tabletop. It includes a phone holder, a pen organizer, a jewelry box, and a coin bank. Each one features a minifigure baseplate and a facade that resembles classic Sanrio products and artwork - with the coin bank being a call-back to Hello Kitty's debut appearance in 1974 on a coin purse.

Whether you grew up with these characters or you're introducing them to your kids for the very first time, a Sanrio-themed gift is sure to hit the sweet spot. Build the magical world of Hello Kitty by voting for this LEGO Ideas set.
