Help your fellow builder by leaving your feedback based on these three criteria:
- Originality: How original is this - never seen before?
- Building Techniques: How much skill do you think the creator of this MOC has, in terms of building technique?
- Details: Express how much you like the details of the build.
Your feedback is only shown to the creator as well as yourself. It is not available for other users to see. The creator won't see your user name.
This truck is a perfect companion to the Repair Tuck 3179. The truck’s chassis is the same but the bodywork is significantly different. (As you might have noticed, I quite like this truck's chassis design).
These trucks are used to remove, install or replace power line poles. This truck could be used for power lines, as in the photos, or for streetlights like the one supplied in set 3179.
The truck first lowers the stabiliser legs and then uses a drill mounted on the crane arm to drill a hole to ‘plant’ the pole in. The crane arm is then used to pick up and lower the pole into the hole. A cherry picker (set 3179) is then used to power up the pole and/or connect power cables. The storage compartments contain tools and a barrier.
