200 supports deserve professional pictures!
Hey there ! I did a pair of LEGO exhibitions lately, on the invitation of the LEGO association I'm in: the BriSY LUG.
There I met a ton of amazing people, a dozen of french Legomasters show candidates and a photographer called Jeremy Chamot-Rossi that enjoys setting up LEGO bricks as much as I do. He offered me to take professional pictures of the Legoban, I had no choice but to say yes and I must say that the results are INCREDIBLY COOL O_o
Here is his website, do call him for shooting your MOCs !
more to come with a project update, stay tuned !

Upgrade to 13x13
Hi builders and go fans!
From the beginning I thought that a bigger Legoban would be great, so I finally upgraded it to the traditionnal mid-size : 13x13.
Of course the hoshi points are still there, and a new one appeared at the centre.
Of course we can still play a 9x9 game with it. At first I wanted to do a reversible board but because of the design I would have lost the slight gap between the intersections and the surface... so instead I chose to do a mask!
This allows the board to be easily adjustable and to keep the initial idea intact: a sober but nice look, some interesting paving technics, and of course a complete functionality. I'm eager to play my next games on this Legoban!
Talking about it: I improvised a game on the first picture and it's White to play; where would you put the next stone ?

Let there be hoshis ⭐
Hey there, how are you?
It took me a fair amount of time but I ended up adding hoshi points to the 9x9 board!
What are hoshi points you say?
Hoshi means 'star', and you will understand why we call it that way as quick as you play you first game!
Those are the key places to play when starting the game. It is said that putting one stone on such a point gives you immediately 9 victory points, because it secures the whole corner under it. It is indeed quite uneasy to invade or take a corner once a stone was placed on a hoshi.
This is also where handicap stones are placed when you play with someone who is less gifted than you.
The 9x9 board has 4 hoshis, situated at san-san (3-3) intersections. The larger boards have 5, situated at 4-4 and center intersections.

We reached the 100, let's go to the first kyu!
Hey there, first of all thank you for visiting !
If you are reading this it means that you are interested in Go game, lego tiling or both... and I know for sure we are a bunch in that case :)
I'm really SUPER happy and proud this very first submission to Lego Ideas reached the first milestone, and I want to thank you for that. I've been considering what to do to enhance the project and I thought about different things:
-[x] adding hoshi points
-[x] making the table two-sides so we could play either a 9x9 or 13x13
-[ ] propose Go problems on a regular basis
-[ ] replay famous games in stopmotion
Hmmmm all of those options are valid to me; what would you pick first?
Cheers,
8rix
