"A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood. A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good..."
This set pays tribute to the classic children's story by Julia Donaldson, The Gruffalo. After the recent release of the Winnie the Pooh set, I believe this would be a perfect addition to any lego collection. The set contains the deep dark wood on an open storybook, and comes with all 5 characters from the story: The Mouse, the Gruffalo, Fox, Owl and Snake.
You can follow the Mouse's journey through the wood along the path past Fox's rocks, Owl's tree and Snake's Logpile, before finally entering the clearing where the mouse first meets the gruffalo. A small stream flows over the pages, with a small log to be used as a bridge, and tall trees tower over the path made using a variety of techniques. The mouse even comes with a small nut - a reference to the final line of the story.
The set also comes with a small display stand for two minifigures - the author, Julia Donaldson, and the illustrator, Axel Scheffler.
