TIE Avenger

This is my attempt at a lego model of the TIE Avenger (aka TIE Advanced), it is based on the updated lego TIE models of PaulWiseOne, who has made TIE interceptor and TIE Advanced x1 models updating their designs to bring them up to the same standard as the TIE Fighter 9492. I would love to see a fleet of different TIEs displayed alongside the rebel's X wing, Y wing, B wing, and A wing.

The TIE Avenger is one of my favourite fighters from the expanded universe, and is a wonderful cross between Darth Vader's hefty-looking fighter, and the sleek, dagger-like TIE interceptor. I have also done a revamped TIE Defender to go along with the other updated TIEs.

The TIE Advanced/Avenger was the production version of Darth Vader's TIE Advanced, and flown by elite pilots who had proved themselves in the TIE Interceptor (the development of which came from lessons learnt in the construction of the Avenger). The Avenger was well armed, with shields and a hyperdrive, but was superseded by the TIE Defender shortly before the battle of Endor.

I have recently gotten a lot of feedback on my designs on Eurobricks, and met a user named Krispijn who has done some amazing TIE designs. With his permission I have incorporated several of his ideas into my designs. I have also made a number of structural changes after constructing the TIE interceptor with bricks. As a result they are now a lot stronger.

I am in the process of purchasing the bricks to build this model. I will post pictures as soon as it is complete. I have altered the rear wing points again for this construction, and I think it is much improved.

Lego likes to put Minifigures with sets, I suggest this set come with a TIE Fighter Pilot, Maarek Stele, and Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Rear view. I have made some major modifications to the fuselage following comments, and am happier that I am closer to the model than I was before, and wish I could thin the wings out a bit, I am happy to take any suggestions to refine the design.
