This is a recreation of the Löschfahrzeug 20 Katastrophenschutz (LF 20 Kats) which translates to fire truck 20 catastrophe protection. It is a German fire truck from the company Rosenbauer. The vehicle is used in whole Germany mostly by voluntary fire fighters.
The Lego model has a fully modeled crew cabin and most of the tools that can also be found in the real vehicle. These include: a portable pump, a fire hydrant, water hoses, a chainsaw, fire ladders (on the roof) and many more. The roof of the front and back can be separated from the hull using tiles and the crew cabin can be took out too for easier access (picture 2).
I built the model because I like the vehicle very much and know it well too due to me being a youth fire fighter. I also just really wanted to built something out of Lego again and thought that this would be the perfect building challenge for it.
I think it would be a good display-set for mostly older Lego-fans because it is very detailed for its size and also has great access to all the compartments inside. I am also a really big fan of the Lego-fire fighters and would like to see a more realistic set of this kind.
Real life pictures of the model can be found here:
